NovaTel and the South Texas Children's Home (STCH) held the 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament.  The Golf Tournament raised over $71,000 for the Children's Home.  Winners were:

NovaTel makes contribution to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund of India, to aid the victims to the December 26^th Tsunami.  NovaTel is a major provider of telecommunications services to contact centers located in India.  Michael Parker, NovaTel’s Chief Operating Officer, and Scott Crawford, NovaTel’s Director of Call Center Operations, have recently returned from 18 days in India.  During their trip, they walked the beaches in Chennai.  They bought shells and souvenirs from the locals and enjoyed the companionship of their hosts.  From as far away as San Antonio, Texas, the partners and employees of NovaTel feel the losses for the friends and families of the peoples of the Chennai and the rest of the affected areas.

Money won’t bring back those lost or injured by the Tsunami, but monetary contributions to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund will help the survivors rebuild their communities, towns, and country.  As a result, all of the partners of NovaTel have unanimously agreed to make a contribution from the Company to the Fund. 

The Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, created shortly after Independence, provides immediate relief to people in distress.  The Fund depends entirely on voluntary donations received from the public.

The Fund renders assistance to individuals facing distress situations.  Its resources are utilized for the provision of immediate relief to the families of those killed in natural calamities like floods, cyclones and earthquakes.  It also grants assistance to families affected by major disturbances, riots and accidents.  Besides, the Fund extends assistance to indigent persons to partially defray the cost of expensive medical treatment like heart surgery, kidney transplantation and cancer treatment.  Over the years, lots of people have received assistance from this Fund.

NovaTel sponsors the 4th Annual NovaTel-STCH Golf Classic.  STCH - South Texas Children's Home has been taking care of children and families for over 50 years through basic dependent childcare, emergency care, foster care and family counseling services.  STCH has campuses in Beeville and Goliad, Texas; and it operates 14 cottages.  The cottages operate much like any other family household would.  The children attend public school, local churches and participate in extracurricular activities.  Because they truly are a part of their family, they provide each of their graduates with an opportunity to attend the college or trade school of his or her choice.  As  mentioned below, Paul Golibart, NovaTel's Founder, and three of his brothers were raised and educated at STCH.

This years tournament was the most successful of all so far.  There were so many players that we had both a morning and afternoon flight.  Through the generous support of the players and sponsors, this year's STCH Golf Class raised in excess of $70,000.  Both NovaTel and STCH want to thank each and everyone for their contribution to this life sustaining cause.

The winners were:

NovaTel Obtains Direct Route to Pakistan.  After several months of negotiating, NovaTel has acquired the exclusive rights to a direct VoIP connection with the Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd. (PTCL).  Under this agreement, NovaTel can terminate voice and fax traffic from the USA and Europe directly to Pakistan, using its VoIP network.  Both landline and cellular traffic will be terminated over PTCL's local facilities.
