Michael Parker – Co Founder, COO & President of Sales
Michael has been with NovaTel Networks since its inception in 2000. He is the COO responsible for strategy, corporate operations, corporate development, vendor alliances, and also serves as the President of Sales & Marketing. Michael has 22 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Previously, Michael was a Major Account Executive for MCI, now a part of Verizon Communications. Over his 7 year career at MCI, Michael became the most decorated account executive, averaging 1800% of sales quotas, and increased business over $40 million. With his vast sales and services experience, Michael offers a creative perspective when discussing service and strategic direction with customers. Michael received a BS in Marketing and Accounting from The University of Texas at Dallas. Michael spends time and effort caring for various marine ecosystems, and contributes to such organizations as PADI, the Maldives Ecological Fund, and Cocos Island Expedition Sea Turtles Restoration Project.
Ari Gorman – Co Founder & CTO
Ari has over two decades of experience with telecom design and implementation. A career that started with deployment of large multi-tenant, multi-location hospitality solutions, operator and international toll services. Always in the quest for better, faster more cost effective solutions that included early adoption of TDM compression and VOIP.
As one of the founders of Novatel deployed one of the first international voice termination H323 networks, that included the first signaling SS7 and C7 to IP as a service in the industry.
Recognized by Cisco and multiple Tier1 carriers as an industry expert and frequently asked to be a test partner for new technologies and solutions.
Architected an innovative and scalable VoIP SIP platform for telecom carriers and enterprise users capable of handling tens of millions of calls with a software/hardware infrastructure that supports over 20,000 transactions per second at a fraction of prior costs.
A creative technologist with a great instincts for what’s next. Strategic and logical thinker who is skilled at planning and execution. Extensive experience with voice and video over IP networks, network design and deployment, data center, software development, cloud and management.
Alan W. Saltzman – CFO
Alan joined NovaTel in August 2003. From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Saltzman was involved with several entrepreneurial ventures. Prior to 1999, Alan was President and Chief Operating Officer of Billing Information Concepts (Nasdaq NMS: BILL), a company that was spun off from U.S. Long Distance Corp. (Nasdaq NMS: USLD) where Alan was the Executive Vice President. Alan began his telecommunications career in 1989 as Vice President of Management Information Systems for U.S. Long Distance Corp and President of the Billing Division. From 1979 to 1989, Alan was a consultant with Arthur Young & Company and Grant Thornton, where he consulted companies in various industries regarding cost accounting, manufacturing and inventory control systems. Prior to that, Alan worked in the Computer Division of the NCR Corporation. Alan holds a Bachelors of Art degree from Baylor University, graduating in 1970.
At NovaTel, Alan performs the traditional duties of a CFO, as well as serving as liaison with the outside Trustee, Third Party Administrator, and Valuation Firm that support the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). He also works with the management team to purchase telecommunications services from over 40 underlying carriers and manages the carrier rate decks that feed the Least Cost Routing (LCR) Engine.
